Project Scope
Prolume has been approached by several equestrian arena operators to provide a solution for their training centres. It is vital that the lighting in these large open spaces is of sufficient quality that both the horse and the rider are able to “read” the ground conditions within the training arena. This allows the horses to perform confidently and the rider has the peace of mind that the horse will not suffer from tripping due to unseen undulations in the training surface.
Approach
The latest project was a new build arena requiring 33, 120 watt AC to AC flat panel highbays in 5000K colour temperature. To provide the necessary illumination, the lights were mounted in rows down the heart of the arena. Both the owner and riders agree that the highbays give a clear and clean light quality, free from shadows and dead spots on the riding surface.
The highbay products used are available in 60, 90, 120, 150 & 180 watt power levels with various mounting adaptors, providing flexibility for different spaces. They are IP 65 which allows for installation outside in all weather conditions for floodlighting, street lighting, billboards and the like.
